Nimbostratus Clouds
Verticle clouds
These clouds are usually low, and acompanied by a small bit of precipitation. They are composed of mostly water droplets, and not ice, because the bases of the clouds are usually below 6,500 feet, (2,000 meters) meaning that it keeps the water inside the cloud from freezing...so its warmer (well...duh!). But, if it is cold enough outside, they may have a bit of ice and snow in them! Unfortunately, you are never able to see the beautifull Sun or Moon throught these heavy clouds (I'm so sorry!
) so that is how you can tell these clouds apart from Altostratus clouds!
